63: Impressed By How Manly You Felt

Sam Spurlin

62: Even If We Don't Know Anything About the Thing, We have Answers

Eric Middleton

Sam is in Houston for the weekend. We had some delicious BBQ. Join us talk about movies from our childhood, the origins of Godzilla, and a little bit of Rugby talk.

61: It Requires Loose Hips

Sam Spurlin

Please pardon our static. There were demons in our Skypes for a few minutes. Don’t worry, it gets fixed.

The Guinness Book of Sam, putting the Constitution on GitHub, a pretty terrible Wikipedia article, Stranger Things, Eric’s lit review, and this is the point where I got tired of writing the show notes. I think we talked about some more leadership stuff, and I installed iOS 10, and I tried a new podcast app and our audio got terrible and then we fixed it and yelled at Skype and weird Olympic sports and the trials of being a handball goalie and Eric watches a trampoline video and we reminisce about freestyle walking and BBQ talk and ;jaef;ljkaesdfsksd.

60: You're Like a Low Level Pokemon

Eric Middleton

We talk a little Zeno's paradox, at least try too. Eric meant to say that there are proofs that can be done to show how solving one example of this paradox equals 1 (not zero). Eric's talks about his time at the Academy of Management conference in Anaheim, CA. Sam shares his company's new website. I'm going to be lazy with writing this description, give us a listen, and leave a voicemail at the thefiledrawer.audio

59: The Mayor of the Org House

Sam Spurlin

Eric is recording from California. Sam talks about why he quit the PhD program. Eric is getting ready to give a presentation at a conference. Eric ate lukewarm sushi. Sam has a fish problem. Eric loves Stranger Things (Sam loves the intro music). Sam is bad at following politics. There are some visitors. Sam got pissed off at his beard and shaved it off. Eric talks about his phone (seriously). Sam has a fun middle name. Eric's new jiu-jitsu teacher is vaguely racist.

58: Pivot

Eric Middleton

There are a few show notes to today. Sam and Eric pretty much caught up after weeks of traveling. Sam has some pretty life changing (?) news. We recorded this a few weeks ago and were slow to release.

Please leave us a message by going to our website and using the send voicemail tool. It can be accessed on phone as well.

57: Looks Like a Little Pal

Sam Spurlin

Sam and Eric kickoff strong with a discussion of an adventure Eric went on in Missouri. Then they briefly forget they are recording an audio only podcast and talk about things they are looking at on the Internet. And bugs. But then they rally for a solid three minutes of psychology talk (Eric won an award!).

The bug that Eric called, "A little pal."

The bug that Eric called, "A little pal."

56: PhD Santa Clause

Eric Middleton

Sam and Eric catch up on on school related projects, working in isolation, naming things after yourself, Oracle vs Google, Apple patent troll, the Heimlich maneuver, big data and a new segment- Meh.

55: Doing a Good Job at Being an Adult

Sam Spurlin

54: Paint You a Word Picture With My Mouth

Sam Spurlin

Sam and Eric talk about concussions, Eric's portfolio progress, chicken wing eating, YouTube, buying new microphones, finding the time/energy to read, Sam's Churchillian experiment, morning routines, the end of Sam's Google experiment, a wish list item for iOS 10, the unnamed Spurlin podcast project, a basic math problem, and the end of Eric's rugby season.

53: It's So Perfect And So Terrible

Eric Middleton

The guys talk about interesting sports, fashion, yahoo, art, and sandwiches. We also talk a bit about academic writing, and get political near the end.

Please head over to iTunes to give us a rating and a review!

52: Take Some Candidates, Throw Them in a Room

Sam Spurlin

The guys talk about school, Sam's world of work, escaping a room, broken phones, and iPads. Also, there's a ghost in Eric's microphone. We've called an exorcist, so just bear with us.

Please head over to iTunes to give us a rating and a review!

51: The File Drawer

Eric Middleton

We are back! We explain why we took a break and play catch up. This is the first episode of season two of The File Drawer.

50: And We Did and It Was Joyous

Sam Spurlin

49: Then You Got a Corndog Sandwich

Eric Middleton

48: Root for Jagged Tooth Kid

Sam Spurlin

47: The Ultimate Parasite

Eric Middleton

46: Someone's Zombie

Sam Spurlin

45: That's a Stupid Algorithm

Eric Middleton

44: Seamless Doesn't Judge

Sam Spurlin

Sam and Eric get together for a quickie. The guys touch on some Apple stuff (super briefly, I promise), politics (because its terrible), an article neither of them read, and then Sam goes on a long explanation of why it’s good to let the information of the world just wash over you from time to time. And subscribe to 60 or more podcasts at once.
